Halifax Harbour Express No. 89 - Oct 4, 2024
In this week’s Halifax Harbour Express, we promote the “Pints for Polio” fundraiser happening on October 21 at Celtic Corner, where $5 from each ticket goes toward the End Polio Now campaign. We also highlight the significance of World Polio Day on October 24 and encourage community support for eradicating polio. Mayor Mike Savage is recognized for his ongoing support of the city and our club’s initiatives.

Honouring Mayor Mike Savage
We were thrilled to have Mayor Mike Savage join us at Rotary Halifax Harbour on October 4th, 2024. Throughout his time as Mayor, Mike has consistently shown up for the community, supporting numerous organizations and causes, including our own. In recognition of his dedication and support, we proudly inducted Mayor Savage as an honourary member of Rotary Halifax Harbour. We are grateful for all he has done for Halifax and look forward to seeing what comes next in his journey. Thank you, Mayor Savage, for being a true champion for our city!
Help Us #GivePolioTheFinger this October

You may be familiar with the tradition of marking pinkie fingers with purple dye after a child receives the polio vaccine, signifying protection from this crippling disease. With this campaign, we’re asking our members and supporters to symbolically “give polio the finger”—to take a stand, spread awareness, and rally behind Rotary’s efforts to end polio for good.
