During our July 8th Rotary Breakfast, our President, Jillian Gibson, shared details on the Action Team, We Create Opportunities. This team is make up of the club executive and will collaborate with Rotarians and community partners in:

Louisa Horne is making one last request for help. All you have to do is complete a survey that is part of her doctoral research. If you have not yet completed this survey, please check your email from Louisa for details. She is looking for 17 more responses to get to 300, or 25% of 7820 members.

Past Rotary International President, Shekhar Mehta, has recognized our club for hosting a Day of Service. On June 5 our club completed a litter clean-up around Halifax West High School as a service project. Thank you to Bob Power for leading this day of service project and Tripta Devichand for advocating for the clean-up needs of Halifax West High School.

Rachel Karoline of ISANS has formed a new singing group called the Halifax Newcomer Choir. They are looking for people, and you don't have to be a "singer"! If you like singing and like helping newcomers, this may be for you. This fun group spends its time both helping newcomers learn English and singing. They practice Tuesday evenings. If you are interested, please contact Louisa Horne for more information.

YouthNet is looking for volunteer drivers for their's students' camping trips.

We are once again selling Rotary tulip bulbs to raise funds for the End Polio Now Campaign. The tulips sold are ordered from Veseys and can only be obtained from this sale. Each box is $25 for 25 bulbs. And with each box purchased, we will send about $15 to End Polio Now in October after the bulbs have been distributed and paid the invoices.
