Louisa Horne is making one last request for help. All you have to do is complete a survey that is part of her doctoral research. If you have not yet completed this survey, please check your email from Louisa for details. She is looking for 17 more responses to get to 300, or 25% of 7820 members.

Message from Louisa:

Good day District 7820 Rotarians

I need your help!

Our district is part of a doctoral research case study project that has been underway for a year, investigating shifts in trends in volunteering.  The results so far are fascinating and there is one more phase of data collection to go!

So far, interviews and focus groups have resulted in valuable insights and now it is your turn to respond to a survey that will provide more data about motivations to participate in Rotary as well as aspects of engagement and resilience.  Some of the questions come from research on those areas carried out in other environments.

It will be most helpful if you could take 10 minutes to respond to the questions - persepctives from brand new Rotarians and long serving Rotarians - and all levels of experience in between - are equally valuable.  I will also be sending a slightly different survey to people who have recently left Rotary.  The longest part of the survey is likely the first page introducing the project and ensuring you are well informed about it - that is required by the university to ensure your informed consent to participate.

The survey uses a tool used by universities in the UK as the project is being carried out through the University of Leicester, where I have been enrolled as a distance PhD student for 3 years - hence the link with "uk" in it. The survey is anonymous and your identity will not be known by me unless you tell me!  If you complete the survey and then think of other ideas, or want to share more or chat about it, you can email me at rotarylouisa@gmail.com --- your views are important for this study, and for the potential ongoing benefit to Rotary.  The results will be widely shared within the organization and are expected to have an impact on how Rotary evolves.

Here is the link - just click on it and respond to the questions.  They are easy!  Please complete the survey within the next week.  I am grateful for the support of the District Board which approved the project and for your assistance in the collection of important data.
