Thank you for your generosity this #GivingTuesday. In 2019 79.5 million people were forced from their homes due to violence and conflict. Additionally, millions more were displaced through floods, hurricanes and volcanic eruptions. Every ShelterBox brings hope and homes to families and communities. Your gift can make more of a difference than you will ever know.

District Governor Coming To Town
This is a reminder that our District Governor, Harvey Bass, will be in Halifax on Sunday, December 4th, 1130-1400, to meet with members of Halifax Area Rotary clubs, plus Bridgewater and Lunenburg. This will be happening at DASC in Burnside (59 Dorey Ave, Dartmouth, NS B3B 0B2). This is a great opportunity to see and hear from Harvey and other Rotary members from around the area. There will also be a conversation about what Rotary can do to help with the Indigenous Games. Please RSVP here. Please bring your own lunch. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jillian.
Christmas Party
This is a reminder that our Christmas / Holiday Rotary Party is on December 10th, at Stephen Beaufoy's building in Halifax. Please check your emails for details from the social committee. Please remember, everyone is welcome, including those considering joining our club! There will be good food and a great social to see follow members.
Youth Exchange Update
The Youth Committee is excited to share that we have two Youth Exchange students lined up (short-term and long-term). We will start integrating them into some activities and preparing them to head out of the country.
Field Trip Meeting - December 23rd
We will have a fun field trip meeting on December 23 at DASC Instrustries (59 Dorey Ave, Dartmouth, NS B3B 0B2) for our Friday morning meeting. The meeting will also be on Zoom. DACS will be our speakers for the morning. Please note that if you come in person, bring the $5 that we usually give to the Westin to help DASC cover the costs of coffee and tea. There are no food options to purchase at DASC, so we suggest folks consider bringing treats to share with fellow Rotarians and guests. We will send out more details, and a reminder in a couple of weeks. This will be our first field trip meeting this Rotary year, so please remember to have your parents sign and return your permission slips to Jillian as soon as possible. wink
Salvation Army Christmas Kettle
Members who wish to volunteer to help with the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle, please reach out to Dave Kowlessar. We are looking at December 19th at the Halifax Shopping Centre.
Who Will Be Our Next District Governor?
Tripta is on the committee to nominate the 2025-2026 district governor. If you have someone in mind who you think would be a great district governor, please reach out to Tripta. The deadline for nominations is January 27, 2023.
Youth Exchange Weekend
Every year (ok, outside of pandemics), Halifax has hosted a youth exchange weekend where the outbound and inbound Rotary Youth Exchange students get together for a fun and educational weekend. This year, it will include a Mooseheads game, Global Citizenship training, and cultural competency training, among other TBD things.

To make this weekend possible, we need your help.

Hosts Families Needed for Youth Exchange
Our club is recommitting to youth exchange for the 2023-2024 school year. To be able to allow a local student to study abroad and to welcome an international student to NS, we need host families. We like to provide the student with 2-4 host families over the school year. We CAN NOT commit to a student until we know we have host families in the queue.
