Our club is recommitting to youth exchange for the 2023-2024 school year. To be able to allow a local student to study abroad and to welcome an international student to NS, we need host families. We like to provide the student with 2-4 host families over the school year. We CAN NOT commit to a student until we know we have host families in the queue.
The two-step host screening process is fairly simple:
- A police check is required for everyone over 18 living in the household. The club covers the fee.
- A home visit is done to view where the student will be living.
Please note: Rotary does not provide any funds to host families for hosting. Youth Exchange is part of Rotary's peacebuilding pillar and is seen as a cultural experience for both student and host. The youth committee team will be on hand to offer support. There will also be multiple times over the course of the student's visit where the student will be participating in planned Rotary events throughout the Atlantic provinces.
