RLI
Rotary Learning Institute (RLI) is hosting a Rotary learning event in Truro on October 15. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Rotary or develop new skills to bring back to our club.

Please reach out to Ashley if you are interested or have any questions.
Welcome Back Dav-Ernan
We are very pleased to welcome back Dav-Ernan Kowlessar to our club. Many former Harbourside members will remember Dave and we are very happy to see him back! We have included his bio below.

Mr. Dav-Ernan Kowlessar, a Business Development and Management Consultant by profession with over 25 years’ experience, is the Executive Chairman of DYKON Developments Limited; a business development firm operating out of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Canada.

International Toast - Rotary Club of Honolulu
At our Friday morning breakfast meeting, we take the time to introduce and recognize Rotary Clubs from around the world.

This week we recognize the Rotary Club of Honolulu. This club was chartered on June 1st, 1915. (Fun fact, the state of Hawaii has 48 clubs!) They have been meeting at the same location, The Royal Hawaiian Hotel, since 1961. They are renowned for creating, developing, and maintaining the Children’s Justice Center and also created and maintained the Friends of Foster Children. This club works throughout the United States.

Truth and Reconciliation Day (Sep 30th)
In lieu of a regular Friday breakfast meeting on September 30th, 2022, we would like to invite members to participate in Truth and Reconciliation Day activities. If you know of any events this day, please reach out to Jillian. We will be sharing these details closer to the date. More to come!

Club Assembly & Social - September 28 @ 6PM
Assemblies are an important time to talk about the club, our vision, and brainstorm ideas for the future. Assemblies are less about day-to-day business and more about club strategy. Potential members may find assemblies valuable and are welcome.

Our next club assembly will be on September 28 @ 6PM at the Westin Nova Scotian Lunenburg Room. Everyone is invited to the Seaport Social (hotel bar) for an informal social opportunity following the assembly.

This meeting will be in-person and on Zoom. If you plan to attend the assembly, please register. You can register and find more information here: https://rotaryhalifaxharbour.ca/event/club-assembly-2/
Calling Nominations
We host our AGM in the late fall (November - December), where we nominate officers and board members for the following Rotary year (July 2023 - June 2024). A formal message will be sent to members about nominations, plus nominations can be made at the AGM. If you are interested in learning more or developing Rotary leadership experience, please keep an eye out for more information, or contact Jillian.
Pints for Polio Fundraiser
The Metro Halifax Rotary Clubs are hosting a Pints for Polio night at the Celtic Corner in Dartmouth on October 26. For every Moosehead sold, $1 will be donated to the Polio Fund.

More details to come. Please reach out to Ashley Butt for more details.
