We're proud to have been the first Rotary club in the world to ever participate in a Pride parade, and we continue to stand in solidarity and support of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Halifax and Nova Scotia. Sign up here to join us. We really want to have a good show of support and need more people to make that happen!
We’ll be meeting at 1:30 on Cogswell Street between North Park and Robie. We'll be in line 4. The parade starts at 2:00 and is a 2.6 km (downhill!) route ending on Spring Garden Road. We’ll be happy to arrange transportation back to the starting point for folks who need it if you let me know. We don’t have a vehicle as a part of our contingent, so be sure to bring only what you need. Dress code is as bright and colourful as you want, and paraphernalia is encouraged (Party City always has some good stuff)! We have a Rotary banner and some flags to bring along with us. Families, kids, friends, and neighbours are all most welcome to join!

The Rotaract Club of Halifax is busy preparing for its annual Great Halifax Hunt, a huge scavenger hunt right along the Halifax waterfront, in support of Roll Out the Barrel. For those who don't know, Roll out the Barrel is a non-profit that provides water barrels to low-access communities around the world. These barrels make it far easier for safe, clean drinking water to be transported from a pump to one's community.
Of course, any scavenger hunt like this one needs prizes. That's why we are presently reaching out to numerous businesses across Halifax to assemble prizes so that our fundraiser can be as successful as possible. We wanted to take the time to reach out to your members who may be business owners or who could have prizes to donate to see if any donations are indeed possible. In alignment with RI President Gordon McInally’s goal to put some focus on Mental Health this year, Louisa Horne thought it would be good to start with learning a bit more. Louisa is gauging interest in having the St. John’s Ambulance Mental Health First Aid course delivered for Rotary in the Halifax area.
