Club Updates and News
AGM
On November 25, 2022 we held our Annual General Meeting. You can view the AGM here.
Christmas Hampers Update
For the last many years, the club has provided about 20 hampers to the community in Spryfield as coordinated by Bob Power. This year we are working with the North End Parent Resource Centre to expand that drive to include Uniacke Square. We hope to double our hampers this year, with 20 going to Spryfield and 20 to Uniacke Square. To help offset the costs of these hampers, we are looking for folks to donate items if they can. You can see a list of needed items here. If you are interested in donating items or helping deliver hampers, please reach out to Dave Kowlessar or Bob Power for more information.

Dartmouth East Cookies
Rotary Dartmouth East is selling cans of shortbread cookies with chocolate chunks as a fundraiser. The Christmas cookies are being sold for $15 per can. If you are interested, please reach out to Kevin Connors.
Outstanding Collaborative Leadership
At our Friday morning meeting, we shared a special zone recognition given to Lori Anne Jones for Outstanding Collaborative Leadership on our district's Systemic Racism Taskforce. Congratulation, Lori Anne!
Paul Harris Fellows
At our Friday morning meeting, our Club President Jillian Gibson awarded Paul Harris Fellows to two of our club members, Ashley Butt and Pat Garrison, for their generous contributions to the Rotary Foundation. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges people who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to the foundation.

International Toast - Rotary Club of San Francisco Castro
At our Friday morning breakfast meeting, we take the time to introduce and recognize Rotary Clubs from around the world.

This week we recognize the Rotary Club of San Francisco Castro, the first LGBTQQ Rotary Club in the world. When they were chartered, there were 11 members, but that number is now over 50. It is not unusual to have over 100 people join their meetings, being the only LGBTQQ club in RI.

Hosts Families Needed for Youth Exchange
Our club is recommitting to youth exchange for the 2023-2024 school year. To be able to allow a local student to study abroad and to welcome an international student to NS, we need host families. We like to provide the student with 2-4 host families over the school year. We CAN NOT commit to a student until we know we have host families in the queue.
