We received a very valid comment in the initial few days of the survey, which is worth sharing. A responder stated that they don't feel our club should have anything to do with corporate membership and that the survey is built in a way that does not provide an opportunity to object. They are correct about the survey.
The conversation about corporate membership began in 2019 and was reignited this Rotary year by members interested in pursuing it. It has been discussed at a couple of Friday morning meetings and our last assembly. Members continue to express interest. This survey is not deciding whether the club should pursue corporate membership. The survey is being used to build a framework for the club to have a more detailed discussion. Corporate membership can only be introduced with changes to the bylaws through a special resolution. All members will have the chance to speak and vote on such a resolution.
If members have concerns about corporate membership, please take advantage of the upcoming assembly and Friday morning meetings. Email any board member if you want your comments shared anonymously with the club. Others may share your concerns, and it is essential to share.
