24 Oct. 2026 World Polio Day Oct. 24, 2026 Rotary World Polio Day is observed annually on October 24th. This day was established by Rotary International to commemorate the global fight against polio and to rally efforts towards the complete eradication of the disease. It marks a key moment to raise awareness, funds, and support to end polio, a vaccine-preventable disease that still threatens children in some parts of the world. Key aspects of World Polio Day include: Awareness and Advocacy: Rotary clubs worldwide conduct events and campaigns to increase public awareness about polio and the importance of vaccination to prevent it. Fundraising for Polio Eradication: Funds are raised to support polio immunization campaigns in countries where polio is still a threat. Rotary works in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in this effort.
