"At Women Leaders of Tomorrow (WLOT), we believe in the power of education and sport to transform lives. Based in Vancouver, our non-profit organization is dedicated to empowering Afghan women and girls by creating life-changing opportunities in higher education and leadership through sport — especially Judo. WLOT supports young Afghan women by connecting them with scholarships and mentorships to pursue secondary, post-secondary, and Master’s degrees in North America. Our programs aim to develop future leaders who will return home and help close the gender gap in Afghanistan’s workforce, government, and civil society." What is an assembly? A Rotary Club Assembly is an internal club meeting where members come together to receive important updates, prepare for upcoming initiatives, and align on club direction. Unlike a regular weekly Rotary meeting (which often features a guest speaker or community focus), an assembly is more of a working session. It's essentially the club's "town hall": a chance to build shared understanding, generate enthusiasm, and make sure everyone is rowing in the same direction. Our assemblies are held twice a year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring. |
