World Rotaract Week is an annual celebration by Rotary International, typically held in March. It commemorates the founding of the first Rotaract club, which was chartered on March 13, 1968. This week is dedicated to honouring the service and impact of Rotaract clubs worldwide.
Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. They are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world, and they operate under the guidance of their local Rotary clubs.
During World Rotaract Week, Rotary and Rotaract clubs participate in joint activities, celebrate the success of past projects, and promote the Rotaract program in their communities. Activities may include:
- Service Projects: Both Rotary and Rotaract clubs may collaborate on community service projects.
- Networking and Social Events: These events foster connections between Rotaract and Rotary members.
- Professional Development Workshops: Opportunities for Rotaractors to develop skills and gain insights from experienced professionals.
- Awareness Campaigns: To increase visibility and understanding of Rotaract’s role and impact.
- Membership Drives: To encourage new members to join and participate in Rotaract clubs.
World Rotaract Week is a time to acknowledge the contributions of Rotaract members and to foster stronger relationships between Rotaract and Rotary clubs, highlighting the importance of youth service in Rotary's mission.
