Dear Members and Friends,
December is a busy month for many, including our club. We have consolidated some activities happening this month into a single email. Here are opportunities for you to engage with other members, give back to our community, OR both!
Festive International Potluck - December 10
You are invited to celebrate the festive season with your friends in Rotary. On Sunday, 10 December, from 4-7 pm, we will gather for an international feast to celebrate another great year. Find more information here.
Christmas Hampers
We are excited to share we will be delivering 40 Christmas Hampers to needy families in the Halifax area. We need your help! If you can donate food items, donate cash, or volunteer to deliver the hampers, click here and indicate what you can donate on the spreadsheet. Please visit our giving page for instructions if you want to donate cash.
Holy-Day Shop - Joe Howe School
This Holiday Season, the Joe Howe School Advisory Council is creating a "Holly-Day Shop" in the gym for students to purchase gifts for someone they love. They are looking for donations of gently used or new items for the students to purchase. Donations are being accepted between December 12 to 14. Learn more here.
Salvation Army
We are coordinating opportunities to volunteer for the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign at the Halifax Shopping Center. Dates (options are Dec 11, 18 or 19) and times have not been confirmed, but if you want to volunteer, click here.
Ways to Give
If you are looking for ways to give, please consider the Rotary Foundation or our Charitable Trust. Donations to either are tax deductible. If you choose to give to the Trust, we would like to remind folks that you can not direct funds towards a particular Club project. The Trust gives to appropriate projects approved by the Club.
ShelterBox Gifts
Do you have someone impossible to buy for? Why not give the gift of ShelterBox items that will make a positive impact? Your gift is tax deductible too! Learn more here.
