Ken McCormick - Moosehead Brewery
This Friday morning, we had a visit from Ken McCormick of Moosehead Brewery. Ken is a Rotarian from Dartmouth who spoke to the club about the Moosehead products and what to expect from RibFest. The number one way our club makes money at RibFest is by selling drinks.

Please tell your friends and family about RibFest and share it on Facebook. We also need members to sign up for volunteer opportunities. Please check your email for volunteer signups.

Special Resolution - June 2, 2023
The Board of Directors of the Club wish to recommend a small increase in club dues over the next three years. This is to account for a small increase in Rotary International dues and other expenses. In order to approve an increase in membership dues, members must vote on a special resolution following appropriate notice. Every active member is eligible to vote but must be at the meeting (in person or via Zoom). We require 1/3 of the members for a quorum. Members will have an opportunity to comment or ask questions during the meeting. For clarity, honourary members are not eligible to vote. We plan to move the special resolution as one of the first points of business on Friday, June 2, 2023, during our regular meeting. Even if you have other commitments, please consider joining the meeting to hear this special resolution before leaving the meeting.

See the special resolution here. If you have any questions, please email info@rotaryhalifaxharbour.ca.
June Fellowship Month Challenge
Did you know June is Rotary Fellowship Month? Fellowship is about sharing interests and experiences with your fellow members. It can be fun or educational (hopefully both). You can find lots of Rotarians with similar interests here.

Here is the challenge! If you are interested in something that is not necessarily Rotary-related, invite your fellow members to join you! It's that easy. Share the details with us and we will share them with members in our communication and calendar! Did you see Clarke's QRS (Quick Rotary Social)? These are the kind of things we can do year-round, but why not give it a try this month?

June 10 @ 10 AM - Rotary walk at Long Lake Provincial Park. Organized by Tom Paul. More details to come.

Send your fellowship activities to updates@rotaryhalifaxharbour.ca to be shared with the club.

Former Rotaractor Help
A former Rotaractor is moving to Canada and applying to an NSCC program. They are inquiring about funding and scholarship options. If any members have any experience or knowledge in this area, please reach out to Tom Paul to be connected with the former Rotaractor.
Vehicle Help
We have received a request from a member of the public regarding the repair of a vehicle. A caregiver of a child with medical and developmental complications requires taking the child to multiple appointments weekly. This request came from a Nova Scotia Early Childhood Development Intervention Services nurse. If anyone knows any organization that may be able to help, please reach out to Tom Paul for contact information.
Friendship Exchange Calgary to Kentville
There is a Rotary friendship exchange between Calgary and Kentville this summer. Many of the visiting Rotarians will be in the city and coming to a BBQ at Stella Roy’s home on June 27th. Stella has very kindly invited fellow members as well.
Joseph Howe School Volunteer Opportunity (June 22)
JHS needs 6 volunteers to go on a school trip to Hatfield Farms on June 22nd. This will be an outing that takes approx. 4-5 hours. Any volunteer signing up must have a current Criminal Record Check and clearance from the  Child Abuse Registry. Either can be obtained online. Other trips are being planned and additional calls for volunteers will follow  If you are able to volunteer, please email Adrienne Malloy - adrienne.malloy55@gmail.com .
