The Rotary Foundation's objectives were agreed upon by the 1945-1946 Rotary International Board and Foundation Trustees and included in the 1946 Manual of Procedures:
  1. Rotary Foundation Fellowships for Advanced Study
  2. The extension of Institutes of International Understanding in countries where they have not been developed.
  3.  The fostering of any tangible and effective projects which have as their purpose the furthering of better understanding and friendly relations between the people of different nations, such as: assisting Rotary clubs in obtaining speakers who can discuss with authority world agencies organized within the United Nations Organization.
  4. The providing of emergency relief for Rotarians and their families wherever war or other disaster has brought general destitution and suffering.
The Rotary Foundation continues to do "good work" today. Its sole mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace!
