Harbourside RibFest 2025 has come to a close — but what it leaves behind is so much bigger than BBQ.
Over four incredible days at Alderney Landing, tens of thousands of people came together to eat, dance, shop, and connect. And at the heart of it all? Community.
This event is more than a festival. It’s a community fundraiser, organized 100% by volunteers from Rotary Halifax Harbour.
A Huge Thank You 💛
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this year’s RibFest possible:
To our generous sponsors:
Steele Subaru
Nova Scotia Power
Rogers, sponsor of the Rogers Sound Stage
Moosehead Breweries
Mr. Propane
Support4Culture – a designated lottery program of the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation.
To our incredible volunteers:
You gave thousands of hours to make this event happen — welcoming guests, setting up tents, managing waste, cooking, smiling, dancing, cheering, cleaning, and everything in between. We couldn’t do this without you.
To our rib trucks and over 20+ local vendors:
Thank you for bringing flavour, creativity, and community spirit to every corner of the grounds. RibFest wouldn’t be RibFest without you.
And to the tens of thousands of visitors who showed up — rain or shine:
Thank you for supporting local. Thank you for showing up for your community. Thank you for making this fundraiser a success.
Why We Do This: Powered by Purpose
RibFest raises funds so Rotary Halifax Harbour can continue to serve our community and beyond.
In the past year alone, thanks to your support, we’ve:
Provided school supplies, food support, and tutoring at Joe Howe Elementary
Built a community greenhouse and hosted multiple neighbourhood cleanups
Participated in the Halifax Pride Parade, celebrating inclusion and belonging
Delivered 100+ holiday food hampers, supporting over 400 people
Wrote and distributed hundreds of holiday cards to long-term care residents
Donated pajamas for moms in need in partnership with Rogers
Sent a local student abroad and welcomed an international student through Rotary Youth Exchange
Supported The Aninga Project, empowering girls through education in East Africa
Partnered with other Rotary clubs to build micro-flush toilets in Ghana
Responded to disasters through ShelterBox, providing emergency shelter, clean water, and supplies to families who have lost everything
Contributed to Rotary’s signature global mission: to end polio forever
And that’s just a glimpse. Every project we take on is powered by people like you — people who care.
