This initiative ensures that girls can stay in school by covering vital expenses such as school and boarding fees, transportation costs, food, water, and medicine. Moreover, the project commits to supporting these young women through their educational journey, right to the post-secondary level, giving them the tools they need to succeed and lead in their communities.
Since 2018, our Rotary Club has proudly contributed $30,000 to The Aninga Project, and we are incredibly happy to continue our support.
On the morning of September 20, Rotary Halifax Harbour President Dave Kowlessar presented Tinaye from The Aninga Project with our latest cheque. This coincides beautifully with Basic Education and Literacy Month, one of Rotary’s areas of focus during September. While we celebrate this month and the importance of education, it's crucial to remember that the need for support and empowerment extends far beyond these 30 days.
At Rotary Halifax Harbour, we are committed to backing impactful initiatives like The Aninga Project year-round because actual change doesn’t happen in a single month. It's a continuous effort that requires sustained support, dedication, and partnership every day of the year.
We are beyond grateful to be part of this important journey, knowing that each dollar goes toward creating brighter futures for these determined girls. Let’s continue to uplift and inspire through service, not just in September, but 365 days a year.
