Rotary Halifax Harbour is proud to announce a new partnership with Sail Able Nova Scotia in support of the Maritime Regatta 2026, an adapted sailing event taking place in Halifax in early August 2026.

The partnership reflects Rotary’s ongoing commitment to supporting inclusive recreation and building stronger, more connected communities across the region.

Supporting Accessible Sailing in the Maritimes

Sail Able Nova Scotia provides adapted sailing opportunities for people with disabilities, helping athletes develop confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging on the water. Their annual Maritime Regatta has become a highlight of the summer, drawing sailors, families, and volunteers from across the Maritimes.

Rotary Halifax Harbour’s support will help expand participation in the 2026 event by reducing financial barriers related to travel and registration. The club’s contribution will also strengthen event operations and create meaningful opportunities for Rotary members to volunteer and support sailors throughout the regatta weekend.

Grace Flight, President of Sail Able Nova Scotia, shared her appreciation for the new partnership:

“Maritime Cup is an incredible opportunity for sailors to challenge their skills. We appreciate your support in removing barriers so sailors of all abilities can access training and competition. We’re very grateful for your support!”

Looking Ahead to 2026

Planning for the Maritime Regatta 2026 begins next spring, with event details and volunteer opportunities to be shared with club members as the date approaches. Rotary Halifax Harbour looks forward to supporting an event that celebrates ability, community, and the spirit of friendly competition.
