If you were at the Magnetic Music Festival this past weekend, you may have spotted a crew of friendly faces in bright yellow RibFest shirts. Those were Rotary Halifax Harbour volunteers, hard at work (and having fun) welcoming festival-goers by giving out wristbands at the gate.
While it may have looked like a simple job, this volunteer opportunity was an important one. In return for our time, the festival is making a generous donation to Rotary Halifax Harbour—funds that will directly support projects both here at home and around the world.
What these funds make possible 💙
Thanks to opportunities like this, our club can continue to:
Provide healthy snacks and food security programs for local youth.
Support educational opportunities in our community.
Help deliver clean water in Ghana.
Champion education for girls in Africa.
Share comfort locally with holiday pajamas for moms.
Distribute food packages to families in need.
A huge thank you 🙌
Our volunteers had a blast meeting festival-goers, soaking up the music, and being part of the excitement. We’re especially thankful to the festival organizers for welcoming Rotary Halifax Harbour as a partner and giving us this opportunity to turn a weekend of volunteering into lasting impact.
And most importantly—a huge thank you to volunteer leader Ashley Butt for coordinating our involvement and managing the team of volunteers all weekend. Ashley’s leadership made sure everything ran smoothly and that Rotary shone bright throughout the event. 🌟
