PALS is looking for volunteer reading tutors and breakfast/lunchtime monitors. Keep reading to learn more.
PALS is looking for volunteers to participate in the Primary- 2 Literacy tutoring program at Joseph Howe School - a weekly commitment for 90 minutes - usually on Tuesday mornings. Volunteers will receive orientation, training, and ongoing support from the PALS coordinator.
Additionally, we need volunteers to provide support as lunchtime monitors from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day- either indoors or outside in the schoolyard. Volunteers to help with the assembly and distribution of breakfast to students are also welcome. This takes place from 7:30- 8:30 am
Any volunteers interacting with the children must go through the process of securing a criminal record check for vulnerable populations and evidence they are not on the national child abuse registry. Both of these can be completed online.
