We are very pleased to welcome and introduce Renato Domingues to our club!
Renato hails from São Paulo, Brazil. In 1985, at the age of 14, he was the founder of the Interact Club in the city of Ribeirão Pires, greater São Paulo. In 2009 he joined the Rotary Club Praia, in the city of Balneário Camboriú, province of Santa Catarina. Renato has been an active lawyer since 1997, always an advocate for social causes, such as projects to protect victims of sexual and domestic violence in universities and indigenous tribes in Brazil - and a long-distance lawyer to this day. In addition to law, he has been an elementary and high school teacher for more than 30 years.
Renato is also a law professor and holds postgraduate degrees in Psychology and international training as a life coach. Out of love for Canada and a passion for Gastronomy, he decided to retire from universities in Brazil and come to study and work in Canada as an International Chef. He arrived in Canada in September 2019, and graduated with a diploma of international chef from Liaison College in Hamilton – Ontario in July 2020. He has worked in renowned Italian restaurants in Milton and Toronto -ON. He currently lives in downtown Halifax and works at Buck Ugli's restaurant. He’s a member of the Association of Italian Chefs of Canada. He is always willing to help everyone, and he is grateful and honoured to be returning to the family of Rotary here in Canada.
