This week our club hosted a Membership Engagement Fair, and the energy in the room was contagious! It was a packed house as members gathered for this in-person-only event designed to showcase everything Rotary Halifax Harbour has to offer.
Think science fair—but instead of poster boards and volcano projects, each of our committees set up to share their work. Members received bingo cards and made their way around the room, chatting with committee leads, collecting signatures for their bingo card, and learning about the many ways to get involved. It felt a little like speed dating, a little like bingo, and a whole lot of Rotary spirit.
Why Engagement Matters
Rotary isn’t just about meetings—it’s about connection and impact. Engagement events like this help members:
Discover opportunities to serve locally and globally.
Build friendships by connecting with new people in the club.

At the fair, our committees highlighted the diverse work we do:

Community Service – Supporting local initiatives like food drives, literacy projects, and neighbourhood cleanups.
International Service – Partnering with clubs around the world to fight disease, promote peace, and provide clean water.
Fundraising & Events – Creating fun community events that raise money for good causes while bringing people together.
Every conversation at the fair was a reminder: Rotary creates impact because of its people.
The Takeaway
By the end of the meeting, bingo cards were full, committees had new recruits, and members walked away energized about what comes next.
