Today was another great day at Rotary. Our guests were Maurice Leblanc from Moncton and Gonzalo Daniel Seises Garcia from Spain.

There were a few happy bucks to go around. The women of Rotary were very happy that they had a fabulous weekend at White Point Lodge. Stella was delighted to say she is going to Pets And Sets in Newfoundland. Murray was happy because he was watching a great program on PBS that was about Spain. Peter put in a Happy Buck because he was having a conversation (with me) that reminded him of the old days of telemarketing when nobody hung up on him. Andrew is happy because he is going to the World's largest Mining convention.

There was a few announcements today. Tripta announced that the reading challenge is going very well. We do need more volunteers though; they only need a half hour of your time.

Paul Roy announced that the membership committee was meeting with new members next week at the Armdale restaurant.

Our speaker, Maurice Leblanc was very pleased to be here as he enjoys speaking about the Community Peace Center in Moncton. He told as well that he could tell us lots of stories about the snow in Moncton.
The center works in conflict resolution. It is dedicated to working with Family Services in Moncton. He wanted to makes something clear, people don't come for counseling; they come for peace.

The story of the Peace center is a story of success. In the last few years they have had a church turn over part of their property to use and have had great success getting government funding.

Maurice believes that we should think of community as our body-and he believes that the Community Health Center can be the heart and soul of the community.

We have been visited from Gonzalo plenty this year but today he decided to tell us a bit about himself. Gonzalo lives with his father, mother, sister and dog (his mother's dog actually). He is now going to Citadel High and living with the Tuckers (for those who don't know, Laura Tucker, their daughter, is on exchange in France).
Scott won the 50/50 but didn't draw the Ace.
