It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our fellow Rotarian, Terry Pond, who passed away on January 3, 2025. Terry was a member of Rotary for more than four decades, joining Rotary Halifax Harbour in 2004 after being a founding member of the Rotary Club of Oromocto. His dedication to Rotary and service to the community earned him the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship medal.

In addition to his Rotary involvement, Terry served in the Canadian Armed Forces, retiring with the rank of Major after 39 years of service. His career involved postings across Canada, the United States, Germany, and the Middle East, with Terry and his family relocating 26 times before settling permanently in Westphal, Nova Scotia.

Terry was also deeply dedicated to the Royal Canadian Legion, where he was a Life Member of Centennial Legion Branch 160 in Dartmouth, NS. He held various leadership roles, including By-Laws Officer, President, and Past President, and chaired multiple committees, such as Finance, Honour and Awards, Poppy, and Chase the Ace. His contributions to both Rotary and the Legion exemplified a life devoted to service and community.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Frances Ann “Frankie” Pond (Wright); his daughters Jodie, Kimberly, and Terri-Ann; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sisters Tandra, Karen, Margo, Susan, and Ann (deceased). The family wishes to thank all those who have offered support during this difficult time.
