The challenge with the current setup using the Owl Cam is that it picks up background noise from conversations in the room, leading to poor sound quality for those joining online. To address this, we’ve decided to continue using the Owl Cam for video while switching to the handheld microphone for audio.
What Does This Mean?
For In-Person Attendees:
- If you wish to speak during the meeting, you will need to approach the handheld microphone. While this is a small adjustment, it will significantly enhance the audio experience for online participants.
For Online Participants:
- You’ll notice a much clearer and more inclusive audio experience, making it easier to follow discussions and feel connected to the room.
Setup Instructions for Meeting Hosts
When setting up the meeting equipment:
- Plug the Owl into the laptop for the video feed.
- Plug the handheld microphone into the laptop for the audio feed.
- In Zoom, select:
- Logitech USB Microphone as the microphone.
- Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Meeting Owl Pro) as the speaker.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in making this change a success. By working together, we can ensure all members—whether in the room or online—feel included and engaged in our meetings.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to improve the Rotary experience for everyone!
