Harbourside RibFest Update

Harbourside RibFest is our club's largest fundraiser. Thousands of volunteer hours go into organizing this mega-event that attracts tens of thousands of visitors. (Did you know that Harbourside RibFest is one of the largest volunteer-run, non-profit events in Canada?) If you are looking for an opportunity to help with the Club, this is it! RibFest runs from June 30 to July 3 at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth this year. As we get closer to these dates, you will see more detailed updates and requests for help.

Updates:
 
  • each day of Harbourside RibFest will have a music theme (rock, blues, country)
  • the Snowbirds will be performing over the Halifax Harbour on July 1 (great view from Harbourside RibFest)
  • we are still looking for some sponsors; please reach out if you know anyone interested
  • there will be a $1 gate charge this year
  • five rib trucks are coming
  • the layout will be slightly different this year
  • other Rotary clubs in our area will have the opportunity to man the front gate ($1,200 donation or 20% of the gate charge, whichever is higher)
    • so far, Halifax Northwest and Bridgewater/Lunenburg clubs have signed up
    • if other clubs don't sign up, outside organizations will be offered
  • we are looking for non-profit groups interested in busting tables for a donation (shorter shifts this year)
  • first aid group gets a donation for providing their services
