Our recent Jollof-Off social potluck was a delicious exploration of this iconic dish and a chance for Rotarians and friends to come together and share some awesome food. Thank you to Jillian and Mike for graciously hosting the event and providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Jollof rice is a beloved dish in West African cuisine, known for its vibrant colour, rich flavour, and cultural significance. Originating from the Senegambian region, jollof is a one-pot dish made with rice, tomatoes, onions, and a blend of spices, often including garlic, ginger, and thyme. It's a staple at celebrations and gatherings, with each country adding its unique twist to the recipe, sparking friendly debates over which version reigns supreme.
This event is another example of why being part of Rotary is about so much more than just attending meetings. It’s about building connections, celebrating diversity, and enjoying the company of like-minded individuals while contributing to our community in meaningful ways.
