We are thrilled to announce that our very own Chris Hornberger has been selected as the District Governor for the Rotary year 2026-2027. This prestigious selection comes after an extensive and rigorous process by the District Nominating Committee. Chris, a member of the Rotary Club of Halifax Harbour since 2015, exemplifies the vision of Rotary in District 7815: “To inspire diversity, collaboration, friendship, and service.”
District Governor Roger Sevigny shared this announcement with us:
"I am pleased to announce after an extensive and lengthy process, the District Nominating Committee has selected the DG for the Rotary year 2026-2027.
In line with the vision statement of Rotary in District 7815—'To inspire diversity, collaboration, friendship, and service'—six outstanding candidates were nominated by clubs in our district. The individual selected is Chris Hornberger of the Rotary Club of Halifax Harbour. With more than 30 years’ experience as a business leader, Chris brings a deep understanding of the issues facing today’s senior and emerging leaders. As an executive coach and management consultant and a founding partner in Halifax Global Inc., she specializes in providing executives with strategic counsel, coaching and advisory, planning and facilitation services."

Chris has been a pillar of our club, contributing significantly in various leadership roles:
- Board Vice-President and President: 2018-2019 and 2019-2020
- Chair of the Refugee Sponsorship Committee: 2016 - 2019
- Participant at the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg, Germany, 2019
- Paul Harris Fellow: Recognized in 2021 for community and club leadership service
- Co-chair and Chair of the RCHH Strategic Planning Committee: 2017 and 2023
- Chair of the Foundation Committee: 2020 - 2022
- Involvement in merger discussions between the Halifax Harbourside and Halifax clubs: 2020

- Active participant in club activities, including Ribfest, and service at the Souls Harbour Mission and Joseph Howe School
