The new Express will feature a visually appealing layout that reflects the professionalism and energy of Rotary Halifax Harbour. It’s designed to catch attention and be easy to read on any device—whether you’re on your phone, tablet, or computer.Enhanced Email Delivery with MailerLite
To improve how we deliver newsletters, we’re using a trusted third-party tool called MailerLite. This platform allows us to send emails through our rotaryhalifaxharbour.ca domain, improving deliverability and reducing the chances of messages being flagged as spam. With MailerLite, we can also create more visually engaging newsletters and track engagement more effectively.Proven Engagement
A similar format was tested during RibFest, and the results were clear: significantly higher engagement than with traditional communication methods. With this change, we aim to build stronger connections with members and attract interest from potential new supporters.Focus on What Matters
Based on insights from over 90 newsletters, the new Express will prioritize the features and stories that have proven to capture the most interest. This will help us better highlight our club’s impact, events, and opportunities to get involved.
Public-Friendly Communication
One of the key goals of this change is to create a newsletter that not only keeps members informed but also showcases the incredible work of our club to the public. With a more polished design and engaging content, the Express will serve as an excellent tool to raise awareness and build interest in Rotary Halifax Harbour.
What About ClubRunner?
While the newsletter will focus on public-facing content and outreach, ClubRunner will continue to handle internal communications and transactional emails, such as:
- Event reminders
- New member welcome messages
- Administrative updates
What Do You Need to Do?
- No Action Required: ClubRunner email addresses will automatically be imported into the new MailerLite system.
- Want to Use a Different Email? You’ll be able to sign up with a new email via the newsletter link on our website.
- Unsubscribing: If you unsubscribe from the Express, it will not affect your ability to receive ClubRunner communications.

A Trial for Growth
This updated format will launch as a trial, and we’ll refine it based on your feedback. If it’s successful, we’ll expand its use to other club communications and events, ensuring that our public outreach continues to grow and thrive.
