With over 2,500 volunteer hours, Eileen’s dedication to the students and staff of Joseph Howe has been nothing short of extraordinary. Her contributions include personalized academic support, fostering emotional growth, and helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment for every learner. Her compassion and adaptability have made a lasting impact on the school community.
Eileen is pictured here receiving her award alongside Mayor Andy Fillmore and Councillor Jean St-Amand (District 16), a testament to the value of her service and the admiration she has earned.
The PALS program, supported by Rotary Halifax Harbour, Irving Shipyards, and others, provides tutoring, school supplies, and volunteer support to Joseph Howe. The program has led to measurable improvements in areas such as early literacy and student engagement — results that are only possible thanks to the tireless work of volunteers like Eileen.
Please join us in congratulating Eileen on this well-deserved recognition. Her dedication continues to inspire us all.
