Did you know that in the past year, the District 7815 Environment Committee introduced the Enviro Awards? These awards were established to encourage District 7815 clubs to enhance their environmental impact. In the 2022/2023 period, eight District 7815 Rotary Clubs received Bronze Enviro Awards.
The structure of the Awards is based on annual progression. Clubs desiring an Enviro Award must initially apply for the Bronze Award. In the subsequent Rotary year, they can apply for the Silver, and in the following year, for the Gold. Each level has increasingly rigorous criteria that must be met. The awards are presented at the annual District Conference.
This year, Danielle Lemieux, the chair of our club's Environmental Committee, is thrilled to announce that we will be submitting our club's application for the Bronze+ Award. If you are interested in the specific requirements for this award level, please reach out to Danielle, and she will provide you with the necessary checklist. To be eligible for the plus (+) citation, we need at least 25% of our club members to complete an assessment of their ecological footprint.
To participate, please visit https://www.footprintcalculator.org/ and complete the assessment. After you've finished, just let Danielle know. There's no need to share your score, unless you wish to do so. Find Danielle's contact info here.
