Our Monthly Business Meeting was held today. As usual, there was lots of discussion, several great ideas and positive energy all around.

Halifax Harbourside was happy to induct Rotarian Virginia Beaumont, originally from Alberta, as our newest member. Great to have you with us Virginia! Peter Skakum welcomed her to our club today.

Stella Roy chaired our meeting and the following items were discussed:

  1. Fellowship Events, Val Bobyk
    • A Guest/Host dinner will be held on Saturday, March 9. Some Rotarians will host, others will attend as guests. Val will contact the membership to arrange the details. Book the date now!
  2. Foundation, Adrienne Malloy
    • We are looking for nominees from our Club Members of Non-Rotarians who may be eligible for Paul Harris Fellowship presentations, to be done at our upcoming District Conference in May. Let's all put our thinking caps on. More details soon.
  3. New Fundraising Ideas, Paul Roy
    • Paul informed us all of a great fundraising idea, presently being used in PEI. This 50/50 Fundraiser has great potential for our club and Paul will send along the details to us shortly. It is recommended that we grab this opportunity soon!
  4. Mother's Day Brunch, Luella Chaisson
    • Our Annual Fundraiser will be held at the Cunard Centre on Sunday, May 12. The Membership is urged to start spreading the word immediately to encourage ticket sales. The website will be set up for this very shortly. Please also start arranging for auction items. Thanks for your sense of pride and determination surrounding one of our favourite events!
  5. Mini-Conference, Barbara Fickes
    • This will be held on Tuesday, March 26, at the Holiday Inn Harbourside (Dartmouth) from 6 PM - 9 PM. Registration will begin at 5:30. Topics will include Membership, Foundation and Fundraising. More details to follow soon. Please mark this on your calendars!

A fun time was also had by all at Boneheads BBQ on Wednesday evening of this week. Boneheads was busy !!! But 16 Rotarians, friends and family members made their way to the tables at the back of the room.  Laughter and conversation was great !!!  Paul Brushet played a great mix of tunes... and the food was finger lick'n good.... although they started to run out of items.  The only thing missing was a camera...  so we have no pictures to prove we were there. However, here's the menu. YUMMMMM!
