Today was a very busy and entertaining day in Rotary!.  Last minute ticket sales were made and lots of Rotarians brought in Auction items.  We were a full house today, some of us had to sit off to the side.

Everybody has really come together last minute here, lots of tickets sold and lots of items!  We had a really busy day with lots of Happy Bucks as well.  both Adrienne and I commended Clarke on all his efforts with Salt Scapes the week before.  Rotarians were out in full force and we were able to sell some tickets and interact with the community.

Next we heard quite possible the best Classification speech we will here in for a long time (although maybe Chris Nicholson can top it next month).

Barbara Fickes has been with our club for a little over a year.   Barb comes from Annapolis Royal.  Family is very important to her, she has two twin brothers and a sister.

As everyone in our club knows, Barb has a passion for music.  She started playing the piano when she was 8 years old.  She always knew that she wanted to move to the big city of Halifax and when she was old enough she came to Mount Allison to get a degree in music.  She is also a big football fan and challenges anyone to try and convince her that Peyton Manning isn't one of the best Quarterbacks of all time (for the record, this author agrees with her)

Another of Barb's passion is photography and travel.  She showed us an awesome slide show from all her travels around the world.  And she also donated some prints to the auction, which was very generous!

Barb is now  Provincial Director with The Terry Fox Foundation.  She has been working with them for five years.  As we all know, this position fits perfectly suited to Barb as she is passionate about helping out the community.

I wonder if Chris Nicholson is going to finish off his classification speech next month with a song?  Well that's exactly what Barb did.  She did an awesome job singing 'Love Changes Everything'.

The 50/50 didn't go, we are all now gearing up for the brunch on the weekend.
