Gayle chaired the meeting on this grey Friday morning – it feels like fall!  Vivienne was in the SAA hotseat again and Lanc’s mentorship is working well!  She roused the group to offer some Happy Bucks – Paul Roy is a new member of the Burns Society (does this mean we can expect to see him in a kilt?); Murray is happy to have moved to a new apartment with a view (what exactly is he looking at with his binoculars?);.........

Gayle chaired the meeting on this grey Friday morning – it feels like fall!  Vivienne was in the SAA hotseat again and Lanc’s mentorship is working well!  She roused the group to offer some Happy Bucks – Paul Roy is a new member of the Burns Society (does this mean we can expect to see him in a kilt?); Murray is happy to have moved to a new apartment with a view (what exactly is he looking at with his binoculars?); Glen is happy that the lovely new restaurant is open (it will serve food from within 50 miles of the hotel!) and that he got to play golf on some snazzy course in Florida last week - and a bit sad that waterskiing is over; Louisa is happy to see Andrew back and to have seen Michael Craig last night at a Public Information Meeting for a church redevelopment project – she also noted that Michael is participating in a Rick Hansen event today – a cool honour; Chris’ daughter was admitted to the Bar last Friday – a great accomplishment and acceptable as a reason to have missed last week’s meeting!

This was a “pseudo-business meeting” – our business meetings are the 3rd Friday of the month – which is today.  Our Board meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of the month – which is next week!  So, we had not had a Board meeting prior to this meeting so there will be more business (and the wine giveaway) next week.

Announcement – Sharon’s new position and some family illness in Yarmouth have made her busy life even busier!  This has prompted her to take a temporary leave from the Club – this is too bad but totally understandable.  Louisa asked for a volunteer to take on the role of Secretary.  Evelina kindly offered to consider this.  Stella and Clarke will both help.

Rose Day -  Sell Sell Sell.  The location is set and we are working on details for the electricity – we will pay for use of power.  The new Sackville Club is selling too.  Gayle and Andrew are working on some social media promotions.  Lanc reminded everyone to bring in any sales tickets next week so the delivery organization can begin.

Membership  - invite women to the “Ready to Rumba” event next Sunday afternoon.  Post the event on your Facebook – Louisa did that and had two surprising responses!

International –The International commitee reported that $2500 has been commited to the Rift Valley Water Project in Kenya.

Vocational Impersonators – Lanc and Vivienne had been paired.  Lanc did a great job as Vivienne – we learned a lot about her life and career.  Next week we will learn more than we ever wanted to know about Lanc.
