Valerie gave us a Rotary “elevator speech” for a Rotary Minute and we all enjoyed the buffet.  Lanc collected some Happy Bucks, Louisa was happy that Alleyne, from the Halifax Club, joined us and that she was not injured in the fender bender on the bridge that she was involved in on the way to the meeting!

We had a good turnout for our first afternoon meeting, the hotel, room and lasagne buffet all worked out well.

Barb led us in a great version of the anthem, the room’s acoustics made us sound awesome.  Hopefully we can recreate that starting note.

We heard a few bits of business, the Rose Day expenses are being collected by Gerry and sales are being compiled by Val.  We will have a “phone blitz” to call in the credit cards on Tuesday, Oct 11 at Paul Roy’s office.  World Polio Day is coming up on October 24, we are having a “Potlucks for Polio” event on Sunday the 23rd,this will be our October social.  Members can volunteer to host potlucks and others can attend, a donation basket will be available.  Barb is collecting names.

Alleyne reminded us about the Halifax Club’s Shred-a-thon on the 8th.  The event will support their ABCs of Fraud program.

A former member, Brenda Saunders Todd, attended and she brought a banner from a Club she had visited several years ago to present to the Club.

Paul Roy is hosting a Youth Exchange meeting soon.
