At our Friday morning breakfast meeting, we take the time to introduce and recognize Rotary Clubs from around the world.

This week we recognized the Rotary Club of San Francisco, district 5150. It is one of five clubs in the San Francisco area, and the second oldest club in the world. It was founded in 1908 to help the city after the great earthquake and fire of 1906. It has launched 4 clubs in its neighborhood and sponsored one of the first clubs overseas in Dublin.
In 2017, the Rotary Club of San Francisco's members wanted to mark its place in history. In one month, members donated 2 million dollars to the Rotary Foundation.

We have also learned that the president of the Rotary Club of San Francisco, Christopher Wiseman, has cousins in Glace Bay.

Thank you Valerie for sharing this week's International Toast.
