Rotary Adventure in Citizenship is an annual 4-day program hosted by the Rotary Club of Ottawa that brings together 200 young Canadians to gain a better understanding of Canada, the workings of our democratic institutions, and the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship.  Participants are hosted by local Rotarians and the program balances elements like meeting the Speaker of the House of Commons and touring Parliament with social activities like touring the city and interacting with the other AIC participants. • 2016: Raina Young, in Grade 12 at Citadel High. Raina also won one of the three $1000 university entrance scholarships provided by the Young Citizens Foundation.
  • 2017: Hoang (James) Quach, in grade 10 at Citadel High.  Hoang sent this note after his experience:
The AIC was the most adventurous and wonderful trip I have ever taken. I made a lot of new friend, my host family is the nicest persons I could ask for as my host, and the trip was amazing. Although it was a little bit rush and we didn't have much free time, I enjoyed it! The experienced and information I had is priceless and it really help me. If anyone ask me now, I'd say there is nothing fun as the Rotary's Adventure.

Rotary Club of Halifax Harbourside will be advised in late 2017 if we have secured a spot in the 2018 Adventure in Citizenship program. Assuming we do, the application period will be late January - mid February.
