This December, as we observe Disease Prevention and Treatment month, we spotlight the selfless service of Stella, District 7815 Polio Chair, Board Member of the Rotary Foundation Canada, and past district governor of the former District 7820.

In 2015, Stella joined a team of Rotarians in India to administer polio vaccines to children, working from dawn until the afternoon in intense heat. Teamed up with healthcare workers and a Rotoractor to navigate the language barriers, they traveled on foot, by bike, and in old cars to reach two clinics a day. The drive didn't end there; meetings followed to report progress and strategize on reaching more children.

The National Immunization Days Stella participated in are a testament to Rotary's relentless efforts. These 7-day marathons start with street clinics and continue with door-to-door visits to ensure no child is missed.

Stella's story is a powerful reminder of Rotary's commitment to global health and the collaborative spirit that drives the End Polio Now campaign. Let's draw inspiration from her dedication and continue our support for a polio-free world.

Join us in thanking Stella and countless volunteers for their contributions. Learn more, get involved, and be a part of this global movement.
