Rotary Foundation Month is observed in November by Rotary International. This month is dedicated to celebrating and promoting The Rotary Foundation, which is Rotary's own and only charity. The Rotary Foundation transforms donations into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.
During Rotary Foundation Month, Rotary clubs focus on the Foundation's work and achievements, and encourage members to support its efforts. Key aspects of this observance include:
- Fundraising: Clubs and districts conduct various fundraising activities to support the Foundation's programs and initiatives.
- Educational Events: Informational sessions and events are organized to educate members about the Foundation's impact and the ways in which their contributions are used.
- Promoting Programs: Highlighting the Foundation's various programs, such as PolioPlus for polio eradication, Global Grants for large-scale international projects, and District Grants for smaller, local projects.
- Encouraging Contributions: Members are encouraged to contribute to the Foundation, emphasizing that their donations support sustainable projects in the areas of peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, and economic and community development.
- Acknowledging Donors: Recognizing and thanking members and clubs for their support of the Foundation.
- Sharing Success Stories: Sharing stories of successful projects funded by the Foundation to illustrate the tangible impact of contributions.
The Rotary Foundation's mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty. Rotary Foundation Month is a time for Rotarians to reflect on and contribute to these global efforts.
