Hello Rotary Halifax Harbour,

It is hard to believe it is already mid-September, that sparkling month when we move from lush greens to vibrant oranges, red and yellows, marking the transition from summer to autumn. I always think of September as the “fresh start month,” there is a sense of a fresh start, clean slates, turning a new page…another opportunity to look at ‘New Year Resolutions’ …September offers us the proverbial second chance to be better!

With a return to regular routines, focusing energy and enjoying the familiar pace of daily life, September is that warm goodbye to summer and a welcome to the changing season. But more importantly, we settle into routines and can focus on the work of Rotary. There is a particular joy in knowing we can be together, and the life force of Rotary, our membership, will be front and center working to strengthen and build our good work in community, in our District and around the world.

For some reason, September, for me, rhymes with Remember, and it is wonderful to remember the remarkable people who worked so diligently, fully committed to making Rotary and our Club such a force for good within our community, the many people who have worked on projects big and small, the over 110+ years of mission and passion, commitment and diligence, that unwavering desire to do all we can for our fellow man. It may be autumn, but the sun of summer still keeps us powered to move forward.
