Our Public Image Committee loves showcasing the incredible work of our club, but we need your help! By sharing your updates, you’re helping us tell the story of Rotary and the positive impact we have in our community and beyond.
Why Sharing Your Stories Matters
When you share your Rotary-related updates, you’re not just informing the club—you’re helping us:
- Engage the Community: Highlight the great work our club is doing and inspire others to get involved.
- Recognize Members: Celebrate the efforts of our members and partners who contribute to our success.
- Strengthen Our Presence: Build awareness of Rotary Halifax Harbour’s mission and values on social media and beyond.
How to Share Your Updates
It’s simple to share your stories and photos with the Public Image Committee. Just email updates@rotaryhalifaxharbour.ca with the following information:
- What happened
- Who it’s about
- Where it took place
- When it happened
- Who’s in the pictures
A few sentences with the basics are all we need! From there, the Public Image Committee will craft engaging content for our club’s social media channels and other communications.
Who’s Behind the Scenes?
Our Public Image Committee works as a team to ensure your updates reach a wide audience:
- Henk: Manages Club X (formerly Twitter) and develops media releases.
- Tom: Shares content on Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Doug: Oversees Instagram.
- Alex H.: Manages our new BlueSky profile.
- Brett: Sends out the weekly email bulletin.
By sending your updates to updates@rotaryhalifaxharbour.ca, the entire team can access your content, ensuring no story gets missed.
A Few Tips to Make Sharing Easy
- Avoid relying solely on WhatsApp: While WhatsApp is great for casual exchanges, it’s not a consistent way to share updates. Please email us directly to ensure your stories are seen.
- Text us real-time photos when needed: If you’re at a live event and want to share pictures on the spot, you can text them to us. But don’t forget to include the “who, what, why, where, and when” for context!
- Reach the whole club, not just a meeting audience: If you’re sharing an update at a Friday meeting, remember not all members may be present. To reach everyone, email your update to updates@rotaryhalifaxharbour.ca, and we’ll include it in the weekly Action Update.
